The town of Blansko is situated in the north of Brno. Currently it has a population of 22,000 people.

The region of Blansko is represented mainly by the engineering industry but also by the electrotechnical industry and by traditional iron manufacturing. The most characteristic products of the aforementioned industries in this area would be water turbines, gray cast iron, electronic measuring instruments and instruments for the polygraphic industry.

The industrial zone, Vojánky, occupying the area of 13.6 ha (34 acres), is situated in the northern part of the town in the direction of Horní Lhota and Ráječko. The first class road No. 43, Svitavy to Brno, which is about 10 km distant from the zone, serves as a traffic connection to the motorway D1 linking Praha - Brno - Olomouc (the distance from the zone to the nearest entrance measures 25 km).

This zone has proven very suitable for the location of light and medium industries. Currently, approximately half of the area, i.e. 6.8 ha (17 acres), is occupied by BLATA, s.r.o.
