The town of Břeclav has a population of 30,000 inhabitants. It is located in the southern part of the Southern Moravia Region and about 60 km distant from Brno. Břeclav represents the administrative center of the Břeclav district which directly borders Austria (the border itself is in the town's close surroundings) to the south and Slovakia to the south-east.
